Veradas, canopies and garden rooms: they have become increasingly popular in recent years. MB Veranda makes and delivers these products, standard or customised. When you order a product, it is of course convenient that all materials are in stock. This way, deliveries can be made quickly. There was insufficient insight into the stocks of basic materials. By more accurately determining the variation and quantity of materials when an order is placed and including them directly in the ERP system, this problem should be solved.
Merkato Essentials as an accurate configurator
MB Veranda called CPQing Solutions to explain what they were looking for. A meeting with the director followed, determining exactly what functionality was needed and then we could really get started. The goal is to gain faster and better insight into material requirements and to process this directly in ERP package Odoo. Thus, the configurator allows them to determine more accurately what needs to be purchased and the inventory problem is solved. In addition, an output document is generated that controls the department that cuts the products to size. After all, better briefing ensures fewer (costly) errors, which have to be rectified later in the process.
Taking full advantage of potential
That the organisation has vision is evident from the ways in which they want to take full advantage of the configurator. The order may have originated from a stock management problem, but MB Veranda also wants to optimise the sales process off- and online. Not only can sales reps configure faster and without errors, but online putting together a product is also made easy. A customer who can put together his entire veranda or canopy on the website, including a 3D model, and receives a quotation in no time: that increases both sales and customer satisfaction! In the next phase, MB Veranda plans to make this digital sales service also available to its dealer network.
