For 80 years, Van Duijnen Koffie has been supplying companies in the Netherlands with coffee machines and sustainable coffee. The quotation process at Van Duijnen traditionally ran through various systems. Product solutions were compiled in Excel, prices were calculated, and this data was manually transferred to a Word template to generate a quotation. When the customer placed an order, the parts list had to be exported from Excel and entered manually into SAP Business One. This manual process was error-prone, time-consuming and the quality could be better. Therefore, a more efficient solution was needed to streamline the quotation process.
Van Duijnen has chosen Merkato Essentials’ CPQ software to further optimise their quotation process. The software should seamlessly integrate the various steps – from composing product solutions and calculating prices to generating quotation documents – into one application. This is expected to greatly reduce manual work, reducing the likelihood of errors.
In addition, the software will allow quotations to be converted directly into orders, with parts lists automatically used to create sales orders in their ERP system, SAP Business One. This link is intended to ensure a smooth transition from quotation to order, making double entry a thing of the past.
The first signs of Merkato Essentials are promising. The time needed to generate a quotation document will be significantly reduced and the order-entry process will run more smoothly, without the need for additional manual operations.
Thanks to the flexibility of the software and features such as the Project Catalogue, Van Duijnen Koffie will be able to more easily present multiple machines or alternative solutions to clients in the future. This will allow the sales process to be further improved and better tailored to specific client needs.
